Description
Machine chain is stamped. This one is drawn — a silver rod pulled through progressively smaller plates until it is wire, then cut, bent and closed link by link.
The irregularity is the point. Held up to light, no two links are identical, and the chain hangs differently because of it.
Sixty-eight links to the foot. A day's work for a foot.
