Bhringraj Hair Oil^Preview

Bhringraj leaf is boiled with virgin coconut oil until every trace of water has left the pan — the traditional test is that a drop no longer crackles. What remains is dark green and keeps for years.

Warm it between your palms, work it into the scalp, and leave it in for an hour or overnight. Sunday afternoon, ideally, with someone else doing the work.

Amla and curry leaf go in at the end for the smell, which is unapologetic.
